Strong winds on Lake Ontario Sept 24 and 25

Here is a video from last Friday with winds from the SW at 25-35 knots (4.2 sail) and also on Saturday with winds from the West at 20-25 knots (5.0 and 5.6 sails). On the second part of the clip you might see Cliff and John.

  1. Great Videos. Wow. The other gopro type videos ive seen are so often so shaky and hard to watch. Mostly im interested in these videos as insight to the locations. I usually sail the north side of the lake at TWC or up in barrie or georgian bay. But someone once showed me around the launches of lasalle and another launch over the weller bridge at a nice park where you climb down the stairs of a small cliff to the water (know that one?) Glad to see there are people sailing at this side of the lake so if i decide to pop down to catch a north wind I might not be alone. I put some of what i learned from that guy on thewindmap do com windsurf launch guide. How is that niagara on the lake launch? How do you get there. Thanks.

  2. Thanks! The NOTL launch is great on NE days. Pass Lock 1 and drive east for about 15 minutes on Lakeshore. The entrance is across from the cemetery (see my link for windsurfing spots on Google Maps).
