Windy last Friday (24th) and very windy today (28th)!

Wow!

A great few days. Friday, we were at Long Beach. Started slow on 7.5 but increased until we were able to go down to our 6.2s. Here is a vid of that day with John, Chris, Marty and Cliff:

Today was awesome also at Long Beach. 2 hours on my 6.2, half an hour on the 5.6 and then had to leave. John has some pics and Marty was heading to the water with the go pro on the lid so check their sites. Might check Lasalle later and put another vid.

Lakeshore Conservation Area, Sunday June 19, 2011 (Day 11)

Finally some wind on Lake Ontario. Some ENE at 15-20 knots near Niagara-on-the-Lake (Lakeshore Conservation Area). Was with Dirk, both of us on 7.5s and overpowered at the end.

On the last run towards shore you see on my left the mouth of the Niagara River with Niagara-on-the-Lake on the West side and the US Coast Guard Niagara Station on the other side. On my right you would see the tip of the Welland Canal. A Canadian Coast Guard Station is located there.

Gusty day at LaSalle (Day 10 on the water this year)

Winds were from the SW with a fair amount of S in there. Maybe around 20-25 knots with strong gusts on top of that. 5.6 with 102L most of the time with a mostly failed attempt on the 4.5 and 86L.

Water is now a bit warmer (about 10 degrees) so the drysuit is gone and so are the gloves; good things come in pair.

Incredibly windy in St Catharines today

Winds at 100kms in town, massive power outages, trees down and crazy windy on the water. Here is the wind graph for this morning (yes gusts to 54 knots)

Hatteras Update

What a week so far:

Saturday: SE on 5.6, 5.0 and 4.5

Sunday: SW on 6.7

Monday: SUP

Tuesday: SW 20-25 knots on 6.7, 6.2 and 5.6

Wednesday: SW 25-30 knots on 5.0 (so far... its only 1030)

UPDATE:

Wednesday: Afternoon was on 4.5 and then 4.0. What a day!!

UPDATE #2:

Thursday: Crazy wind, 4.0 most of the day followed by 4.5!!

Weather is awesome high 20s celsius.

Spring trip to Hatteras

We were treated very well today in Avon, Cape Hatteras. Strong winds from the SE at 25-30 knots with warm water. The house is currently shaking and the lights are going on and off. Will be putting some videos later on this week. Keep also track of John's site www.windinsight.com.
